Review on Bottelsen Devastators Black Steal 90% Tungsten Soft Tip Dart: Unrivaled Precision and Durability by Brian Malith

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor quality darts, overpriced.

The weight match on these Devastators barrels was abysmal - over 0.7 grams on all but the lightest and heaviest. The color is not black as advertised but dark gray and the finishes are so sloppy it looks like a third grader drew them. The rings on the back of the barrel are dull and the so-called "gorilla grip" isn't grippy at all - I've seen better knurls on $7 brass barrels. Even if you replace poor quality springs and shafts, the darts still won't fly as well. I really don't understand the hype about Bottelsen. I bought Bulls, Harrows, Unicorn, One80, Designa and Red Dragon darts for $20-40 less that flew better and had a better finish. For the same price as these Devastators I've gotten shot, mission and dynasty darts that are light years better. Bottelsen might have been decent a few decades ago, but they don't keep up with the times. If being made here in the USA is really important to you, spend an extra $10 on Voks and you'll get a quality product that lasts, not the advertised junk. The only disappointing thing about Devastators is how poorly Bottelsen capitalizes on people who aren't that smart and never take the time to browse the many different dart shops online. I have no personal intentions against Bottelsen - I just don't like it when people get ripped off. I sincerely hope that one day soon Bottelsen will break out of the dark ages, open his eyes and take a look at what the best dart makers are doing today, improve his methods and equipment, tighten quality controls, offer his wares at competitive prices and return to build. the game.
