My 3 year old Devon Rex has been on Solid Gold for 4 months. I wanted to find a cat food brand with recyclable packaging but gluten free and high in protein, so I switched to Wellness. I remember reading reviews of people suffering from urinary tract infections while taking this brand, but based on the reviews I decided this diagnosis was an accident and had nothing to do with cat food. However, after three weeks on this food, I ended up in the pet emergency room with Lucca who had a blocked urinary tract. I was stunned, but the vet asked me a series of questions to determine the cause (stress, dietary changes). And I told him that the only substitute was his cat food. While UTIs in cats can be idiopathic, he believes Lucca's cause was wellness foods and their high levels of magnesium and other minerals. Should have listened to more feedback. After a huge vet bill in the ER and expensive prescription cat food for urinary issues, I later learned my lesson.
