I have this for use with MacBook Pro and Dell laptops. I wanted something faster than the SATA III SSDs I use now. Since this is exactly the case, I decided to buy a 1TB NMVE PNY drive (Revain is currently $96.00) with speeds up to 3500 bps. I formatted it in NTFS so I can use it with both systems (the Mac runs NTFSmac from Paragon Software, which allows the Mac to write to an NTFS drive). So far this has worked great. I copied over 4,000 small files to it in less than a third of the time it took to copy to a SATA SSD. Copying large video files just got faster. I am very happy with these speeds. The case itself is made from very nice aluminum with a slide out plastic tray for the disc. No tools are needed. Push the button at the end of the case and the tray will pop out. Insert the SSD into the slot and secure with the thumbscrew. Place the thermal pad (included) on the SSD, slide the tray back in and you're good to go. If you use SSDs to copy a large amount of data at once, the SSDs will heat up and slow down (gas) to keep the temperature down. The thermal pad helps transfer heat from the SSD to the case. Aluminum conducts heat and keeps the SSD relatively cool. The case got really warm (good) and I didn't notice any slowdown while backing up about 280GB of data. An SSK enclosure paired with a PNY SSD is a good combo at a very reasonable price!
