I bought ginger to crochet some small pumpkins and it worked great. Pattern - Sweet Little Pumpkin Patch by Norman Schwarze. It's a nice desaturated orange color, closer to a real pumpkin than any neon, it's not flashy at all. The weight is very light. Compared to other yarns I have, this is the closest to sock weight. It's a lot thicker than my tip but still very thin. I used needle number 1, it turned out fine. If you knitted something other than plush you could probably use a different size, but of course double check the size first.
