The appearance and idea of this gate is very similar to others, but simply cannot be compared. The latch is awful, cheap plastic and very uncomfortable to manoeuvre. I guess that was her response to the gates being open both ways, but not well thought out. I have other gates from a different brand that have a much more secure latch and still allow the gate to open either way. I have a feeling you need to use mounting hardware with this airtight seal to be effective. Unlike my other which doesn't have side brackets drilled into the frame, this gate pops out of the door frame fairly easily. To get the pressure you need to hold it in place, tighten the adjusters at the end to the point where the gate won't open. There are much better gates in this price range, even cheaper ones that perform better. This gate is a good concept but requires work and a lower price.
