This is my first experience with chain hoists. I bought it to lift a 300 lb generator off the ground onto an elevated platform. In the case of hurricanes, we can lose power and be flooded at the same time. Elevating the generator increases the likelihood that generator power will be available in the event of a flood. I found the lift easy to understand and easy to use. The hooks have spring loaded clips that prevent the hooks from loosening. The manual chain runs slowly, smoothly and predictably. This ensures that there are no quick, unexpected changes that might occur from another person operating the electrically powered winch.
