This exceeded my expectations. I recently received a passively cooled Tesla K80 so I needed to cool it down. 12v, 7v and 5v options are great. Noise Level: 5V: Less than the fans in my case, you won't notice this unless you're using a very quiet device. 7V: Same as 5V for noise. 12V: jet engine in your PC. REALLY loud and should not be used unless you have another option. Noise aside, let's get to the real part. COOLING. Now there are a few things to consider: 1. Space: I have limited space in my mid-size tower case and I only had 1 slot for it. However, it uses 1.2 slots and effectively occupies 2 slots. However, if you remove the fan grill, it will only take up one slot, so be sure to do this if you have space constraints.2. Airflow: There must be proper airflow in the case for this to work. Otherwise, you will only circulate hot air inside the case, which will be harmful over a long period of time. I have 1 fan for the inlet and 3 for the outlet. So I have a decent airflow. However, as you can see in the first photo, I don't have much space behind the fans. Still got good performance.3. Installation: This was the most important thing when it came to cooling. When I originally installed it as close to the PCI slots as possible, it was still too far from the GPU to be effective. I had to scale it down and bind it to the case to get it as close to the GPU as possible. In the attached photos 2 and 3 you can see what I mean. Without this I worked much hotter. So come as close as you can. It's worth noting that I removed the plastic cover on my Tesla k80 to directly open its radiator. All in all, the cooling performance was actually quite good. I got 35C at idle, while at moderate load lasting over 30 minutes I got 60-70C. I tested both 7V and 12V and wasn't worried about 5V. For a long workload, you can use 12V and leave the case open. At medium load, 7V works great, makes no noise and works well with the case closed. Overall a great option for a passively cooled GPU and cheaper than any other alternative I've found for the Tesla K80.
