Solid choice of low profile docking station for use with external monitors *1080p*

Looking forward to trying them on the docking station. Unlike many modern laptop docks, this one takes up a lot less space, which is great if you don't have a lot of desk space. However, like other docking stations, this one is not bus-powered and must be plugged into an outlet. The included power cord is USB-C to USB-A, but it's very short at around 1 foot in length. I would recommend getting a longer aftermarket cable; For testing, I used a 10-foot USB-C to USB-A cable that I had on hand. You'll also need a USB wall adapter if you don't already have one; There are no power adapters for this docking station. The dock connects to your computer via a USB-A connector, but QGeem has also included a USB-A to USB-C adapter so you can use it on more modern laptops that only have USB-C. All ports behave as expected; The two USB 3.0 ports on the front of the device easily recognize peripherals and flash drives, the Ethernet port works flawlessly, and the SD and microSD card readers do their jobs without hiccups. However, I had a small problem when it came to connecting external displays. To use external displays with this docking station, DisplayLink drivers must be loaded. It's mentioned in the user guide and installation is pretty painless. However, for some reason the docking station was not able to see the full 1440p resolution of my monitor when connected to either of the two HDMI ports on the docking station. It displays at the max resolution of 1920x1080 no matter what I tried. However, this isn't a huge issue if your displays are 1080p or lower. I don't actually have displays old enough to have a VGA connection, but I appreciate QGeem's decision to enable the legacy port for users with older monitors. It's small and portable, but still offers the ability to connect your computer to multiple external displays. I'm hoping that a future update to the DisplayLink driver will allow the dock to see the full resolution of my external display, but again, if you're running 1080p or lower then this is a good choice for a small dock. in a bag and take it with you to the office if necessary.
