Review on MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12GB GDRR6X 320-Bit HDMI/DP Nvlink Torx Fan 3 Ampere Architecture OC Graphics Card - RTX 3080 Ti Gaming X Trio 12G by Luca Washington

Is working. Very hot, too hot. overpriced.

This is a 3080 Ti so its performance is the same as a 3080 Ti. I removed the cover from my unit and it actively cooled with two 120 mm fans Noctua A12x25 PWM 60.1 CFM (see pictures). Under full load, the temperature of the GPU and HotSpot is around 75 °C, which is quite acceptable. However, the memory junction temperature usually reaches 100°C and sometimes 102°C. (All this at an ambient temperature of 25°C.) This is bad, although it hardly meets the specification. Apparently the thermal pads are substandard as is usually the case with MSI (and some other AIB) cards. I plan to replace them as soon as I can find their exact dimensions. Please note that removing the cover from your card, replacing thermal pads, etc. will NOT void your warranty in the United States! Overall I'm happy with this graphics card, but that's because I don't mind fiddling with it to change it up if needed and because I can afford the absurdly high price tag. And make no mistake, that price is undeniably uncomfortable. I was able to get it for an MSRP of $1769.99 and after tax my total was $1923.98. However, this card shouldn't really cost more than $900-1000. Well, at least not a single speculator could benefit from my purchase. PS - This GPU is suitable for Cooler Master NR200. It can be put as is if there are no fans at the bottom. Otherwise it must be disinfected. It is recommended to remove the fairing to improve the temperature and reduce the noise level. If you want to connect these bottom fans to the card so they can drive it, you'll need a connector like this: https://www.amazon.com/CRJ-Splitter-Adapter-Sleeved-Graphics/dp/B07T95K68T/

Pros
  • Output: DisplayPort x 3 (v1.4a) / HDMI 2.1 x 1
Cons
  • Not bad but...
