Water shoes are easy to put on and then slip in the water or can be difficult to put on but stay on when you need them. It's the best of both worlds - easy to slip on and stay in the water. The sole is pretty solid, but the upper is pretty thin - you probably wouldn't wear them in a rocky river if you need protection on the top and side of your foot, but they're great for aqua aerobics or a pebble beach. The fish scale pattern is great too!
