Five times what this cheap plastic should cost, but it does the job

REALLY? $35 for a cheap plastic box and a cheap and plain foam insert? Nothing about this product justifies the price. I could probably get the dozen foam inserts that came with it for the same price if I were willing to pay for a place that makes and cuts foam. And the box looks like you could buy it at Wal-Mart for $10. Two stars deducted for price gouging. Another point of criticism: All USB ports are the same size. The illustration shows everything that can be placed in the box. Not really. Anything over 3/4" wide and 1/4" deep will fit snugly (much more will require using scissors or a knife to widen the gap), anything smaller will not held by the foam and just falls to the floor. Slot that will be difficult to get out of. There are a few ultra-thin USB drives that disappear into slots, although two in one slot could fit nicely (and increase the capacity of this box). With the exception of uncommon USB devices, this box is large enough to fit pretty much anything you want to put in this box (up to 3 1/4" or 3 1/2" long will do). If you need the convenience of buying something ready-made online, it's overpriced. If you want the same without getting robbed, find a small box that fits you and have a local company cut a piece of styrofoam for you. For something made out of these materials, you'll have to buy a $50 or $100 USB device holder for $35, which costs another star. The buying experience was fine, ordered on Monday 08/14/17 afternoon, received late Thursday morning 08/17/17, supposedly delivered within 2 days. The shopping experience was a common annoyance for Revain: trying to narrow down the results to only get deals on the kinds of things you're looking for, rather than 100,000 other unrelated items (searching for the USB case will return 99,820 USB sticks, USB WiFi devices, devices that accept USB sticks, etc. etc.). All this, if the price doesn't put you off and you don't have too many small USB devices, this is a good product. The latch works well and the hinge is a metal bar in a plastic case, so there shouldn't be the typical problems that plastic hinges eventually break from overuse.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
