Review on ๐Ÿ‘ถ Philips AVENT Audio Baby Monitor Dect SCD502/10: Stay connected with peace of mind by Michelle Frey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The baby monitor comes to the rescue.

Don't know. 4 or 5 baby monitors before you find this one. At this point, I don't know if you're going to get the perfect product, but it's damn close for us. A little background: We had twins in December 2014 - they were top notch and if you've ever dealt with a premature baby you know you don't get enough sleep. partly because you're scared to death they'll stop breathing at any moment (but usually when you're trying to sleep), and partly because they're loud little suckers - it's like caring for baby goats. We had the additional problem that the range of the video monitor we were using with our daughter didn't reach our bedroom, so we had to come up with another solution. After much discussion about Russians watching our children sleep, we finally settled on the possibility that a Dropcam camera (now Nest) could work in combination with an audio monitor - I bought a Safety 1st baby monitor, which used it most of the time worked. but it also generated a lot of noise and if you left it on for too long it would ratchet - it eventually broke after a year (which is good because I hated it so much). Then we tried a few more, most didn't work due to the long range - the ones that worked were louder than our goats - the Philips Avent DECT baby monitor was the best of all baby monitors - it turned out that it had none Range problems and the big winner is. if there is no noise it makes no noise - AAAAAAAA at least for part of the night I now have peace and quiet instead of listening to her rain machine and hiss all night - it has a built in squelch that works when the ambient noise levels out exceed a certain level and it's quite sensitive. In fact, we place the monitor behind the door. The first couple of nights of use I was afraid it wouldn't respond if the kids were making noise, but it is. every time. I sat there one night with a camera (with a slight lag) and a monitor and didn't miss a single baby sound - now I trust it completely and the quality of our sleep has improved a lot - I highly recommend this monitor -- Oh, and it also works with 220V, we brought it to Germany, yes. Twins in Germany, I don't know what we were thinking.
