The reverse lamp always stays positive, but negative (ground) is applied to the opposite lamp terminal when the gear selector is in reverse. This turns on the reversing lights. The solution is to put a 12V relay in parallel with the reverse light so that the relay is activated when the light is on. Connect the same positive wire to the terminal that supplies voltage to the normally open relay contact for the camera sensor circuit when the tail lamps illuminate.
