As I'm short and have a wide waist, dresses are usually too long for me. This is also the case here. It rises higher on my waist but I'm used to it. The rest is very convenient. I took the advice and increased the size by 1 and it works fine. Very breathable. I would recommend it. For reference, my height is 5ft 3in, I usually wear large, I bought XL
