They are thicker and larger than I expected. They fit both my 5 year old (very thin hair) and my 10 year old (massive, thick, very long hair). We don't usually reuse plastic straps, but they're pretty durable and we've started. Very great purchase and I am very satisfied. We only used the extra tools once and everything was fine. Worked well enough.
