It seems like solid heavy cables, pure copper. I ordered two 7ft cables and one 2ft cable. The two legs were crimped differently than the longer ones and I was able to move the cleat, the others were better but still not tight enough to make me feel secure. I ended up re-crimping all the ends. To do this I removed the heat shrink tubing and replaced it with heat shrink tubing for a watertight seal. I think it should have been done that way originally. Another thing that the name/description "boat" includes is the welding wire, it's not tinned, just bare copper. There are no nautical ratings printed. This can work well for any use, but was created for such use, so use at your own risk. If you want to use it anywhere the weather or humidity and wet will hit it, you'll have to rip off the cheap heat shrink tubing and use marine grade material with glue to seal it and keep the copper from oxidizing.
