I ended up using masking tape and it held up pretty well.
I used this to decorate a themed party at a 1950's malt shop. Lay the top half down and then turn the rest of the roll upside down to make a "chair splint" and it looks really cute. The only reason I gave him 4 stars instead of 5 is that it was almost impossible to keep him awake. I've used a TON of reusable mounting stickers and still had trouble getting them loose. Pushpins would have worked, but I didn't want to punch holes in the wall. I ended up using masking tape and it held up pretty well.
