Review on 4 Inch Die Grinder by Makita GD0601 by Brent Henderson

Makita GD0601 1/4 " Die Grinder

I found the GD0601 to be a very decent die grinder for the price. The grinder is a 25,000rpm single speed machine, not variable speed like the specs There is no storage box included, which is also incorrectly stated.I was able to find a really good 14-7/8" x 9-3/4" x 4-1/4" metal foam-lined storage case from Coastal Tool find, [part number: CC] for about twenty-three dollars, that means good for a grinder and also has a small detachable metal parts bin that can hold collet wrenches along with a few bits and accessories. Remove the nose of the tool to install. If the side handle is removed, the rubber boot can be attached back onto the tool if necessary. The side handle is the same as the Makita GD0800C grinder and I find it a must have for a straight grinder when used with wire brushes and grinding wheels. I had to find that out myself because my own Makita tech support didn't even know their die grinders could use a side handle. This grinder is pretty light for its size. 3.5A rated double insulated 2 core power cord. The power switch has a fixed position for continuous operation. The tool runs very smoothly and is quiet enough for a straight grinder. It can be used with different types of attachments and attachments, such as: . I purchased a 1/8" collet from Makita [P/N: 763626-6] for my grinder to use with my Dremel accessories when needed. Overall I am very happy with this grinder, especially when you consider the price, an additional $20 discount from Makita has been added here at Revain, making the offer unbeatable elsewhere.
