ONE SIZE UP! The 3T normally fits my daughter (26 months, 24 pounds) who has plenty of room to grow. I buy 3T for her for things I hope she can wear next year. It's a very cute, soft material and looks well tailored, but the 3T was snug on my daughter and too tight on her breasts and arms. The sleeves cut into her when she raised her arms to shoulder height. I would increase the size by 1X, maybe even 2X. I've compared them to other 3T shirts, they're a full inch narrower around the circumference.
