This protective film is exactly the same as the one you removed from the face of your new phone, tablet, laptop or sat nav except it's THICKER. The transparent version isn't "crystal clear" but is quite transparent, so "translucent" is probably not the right word. As can be clearly seen in the photo, the numbers on my safe's keypad are clearly visible and protected due to the 5.5 mil thickness of the product. The purpose is to protect the digits on the keyboard from "friction" so that a cracker can "identify" the digits of the combination. My plan is to replace the belt before the belt itself shows any signs of wear. The adhesive is NOT "static cling" but it will not damage or leave marks. If you're trying to protect wooden doorsteps, the edges of wooden furniture, or really small decorations, this isn't your missing link. Protect glass, plastic and metal surfaces with an easily removable film. this is your pot of gold.
