Review on Peshtemal Decorative Bathroom Farmhouse Dishcloth by Candace Young

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice design but too thin

The picture made me think they were thick towels. These are the thinnest "towels" (?) I have ever seen or used. They are so thin they don't look like towels. Are these really towels? The bag they came in said "tea towels". Even for the kitchen they are too thin. (From the web) The pestemal is a traditional bath towel that was developed hundreds of years ago to help bathers maintain their privacy. It is a staple of Ottoman and Persian cultures. They are said to dry faster than thicker towels. I agree they are beautiful which is not surprising coming from Turkey. However, they didn't give me the same feeling that I'm used to from towels. Given its history, I will keep it with pride.
