This volume control is amazing. I've been using it for several months now. It is made of solid metal and the dial turns very smoothly. There are buttons for pause/play, forward and backward, and a button to change the volume when the wheel is rotated. Again, it is made of solid metal and has a rubber bottom. It stays in place wherever it's placed and I expect it to last longer than the computers I've connected it to. I use it to change music streaming volume on a secondary PC while working on my main PC. Both PCs are connected to the same large monitor via KVM and the secondary PC is offline most of the time. By plugging it into this PC's USB port, you can easily change volume, pause music, skip the next track and more while working on your main PC. Again, this is a solid construction. I've used it on both Windows 10 and Ubuntu Linux. It works perfectly on Windows 10. On Ubuntu (Mate 20.04, 20.10, 21.04) it works fine when logging in, but once it goes into screensaver mode the OS doesn't recognize any device input until I log in again. This is an Ubuntu issue, not an issue with the sound manager itself. Out of the box, it works great with Windows 10 and Ubuntu - no drivers required.
