This small item is definitely not high quality. There is only one on/off button. They create volume at the roots but only use a very small section of hair at a time. Not a lot of hair either. You need to press hard to allow the plates to curl a 1 inch section of hair along the entire length. Anyway, it does what I got it for. But I still feel like a toy due to the light weight in my hand and the feel of cheap plastic. Aside from the lack of a temperature switch (don't know how hot it is). On my fine blonde hair, adjusting the thickness helps curl the entire length of the hair.
