Review on Pack SimpleHouseware Commercial Compatible Foodsaver by Andrew Roberts

Note: Please read the continuation below. These rolls work well with the FM5000 Series Foodsaver Vacuum Sealer. The textured plastic material seals and holds the vacuum with excellent results. So far I have made many bags of different sizes without any problems. It is good value for money and will help you save money on bag making. 100 feet should be enough for a while. The thickness and quality of the material appears to be as good or better than the original samples that came with the Foodsaver. The only small note is the lack of white space to mark bags. But the marker works perfectly. Follow-up: After using these bags for a few months, I downgraded my initial rating from 5 stars to 2 stars. I have used a variety of Foodsaver machines with FoodSaver bags for years and have rarely had a bag break. Usually the mistakes were my fault due to bad sealing when I was learning to vacuum things. After making over 75 bags with SimpleHouseware bags, I've had about 25% failures (loss of vacuum) with long freezer storage and several instantaneous failures. After carefully examining the failed wrappers, it turned out that there were several reasons: 1) the sharp edges of the T-bone steak punctured several wrappers, 2) wrinkles in the wrapper during sealing resulted in a poor seal (the last 5 ft from two rolls were very wrinkled and had to be thrown away) 3) One roll had a few scuffs and small holes near the center of the roll - apparently during the production process - these bags failed immediately, 4) Several bags gradually lost vacuum and I couldn't see a single reason. I haven't wasted any food since I discovered the glitches before the food burned in the freezer and re-vacuumed the food with the FoodSaver brand bags. I went back to the FoodSaver bags and threw away the rest of my fourth and final roll. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend these bags. I may have gotten a bad batch, but the cost savings aren't worth the added risk of package breakage. I liked the bags at first, but they didn't work well over time.
