Bought these headphones online. Before that, I used budget HD215 as headphones (in my city they were one of the best-expensive headphones on store shelves). In general, I was pleased with them, but after reading about the super-duper sound of the HD650, DT880 and the like, I decided to try it. The choice fell on the DT880PRO, primarily for anatomical reasons: I was afraid that the 650s might be small and uncomfortable. At the first connection, it turned out that the plug was badly soldered. I did not send it back for a guarantee, it was easier to solder. I use ASUS Essence ST as a source. When comparing 215 and 880, I found out for myself (club, pop, rock): 1) despite the declared specifications (from 5 Hz), the 880 bottoms resemble shelf acoustics from a music center - they thump loudly and okay, for example, when the drum is hit at 215, despite the general underestimation of the bottoms, sometimes there is a lack of "hit in the chest "obtained when listening to overall floor acoustics. With an excess of bass (modern dance music), the sound of the 880 begins to degrade. 2) the high ones in 880 are overstated with a characteristic "poking", after them in 215 they seem to be absent at all (they are already underestimated there). 3) A 250 ohm source impedance is a lighter load and even on a regular player, as a rule, a comfortable level is reached at maximum volume. The amplifier is primarily needed to achieve high quality playback. 4) in general, the level of detail of the 880s is of course higher. I liked Depeche Mode(flac) the most, they play good 80s music. I don't listen to classical music and orchestras. It is contraindicated to listen to club music with a constant low-frequency background and emphasized highs (poking) in them. In general, you should take them only after listening and comparing with others.
