I use it for mountain biking. Sweat had pooled on the front of my helmet and was beginning to drip onto my sunglasses, blocking my view. Now I wear it under my helmet and I can work longer without sweating. It's not perfect and not sure how much it actually weathers, but it's an improvement. The downside is that it barely fits under my helmet. It's not very thick, but that extra bulk around my head adds up. I have a small scale on the back of the helmet to tighten or loosen the fit. Now it's fully open. You can take this into account when using it under a helmet. Another option would be to remove some of the helmet pads if you have a helmet that allows it. On the other hand, I held my helmet fairly tight and didn't wobble, and the very thin forehead pad wasn't enough to cushion the pressure of the helmet on my forehead. This adds a little extra cushion.
