I've used single strip wipers (mostly larger versions of the ones you can use to clean windows or shower doors) in the past and they worked well but almost always left streaks or water drips here and there. This mop blade is much nicer than a single blade and the rubber is so thick it is difficult to leave a streak. You need a relatively thick handle to screw the blade on, but once you've done that there's nothing left in that squeegee. Ideal for cleaning basement and garage floors and large spills on non-porous surfaces. I use it and a commercial vacuum cleaner to clean dirty water. (Note: I bought a Weiler 44303, 72" long, 15/16" diameter, threaded wooden handle to use this scraper, but it was a bit narrow. I had to wrap cardboard around the end before placing the squeegee over it could and tighten the clamp). pen and it works great with this squeegee head.]
