In my case it's a win. The missing accessory for all wet and dry vacuum cleaners. I have two Ridgid vacuums, one 5 peak hp and the other 6.5 peak hp. I have to say it cleans medium plush carpets well. It lifts fine cat hair and my wife's hair. Now the power of the vacuum and the movement will change the action of the roller, but it will do its job. Of course when it goes forward it spins fast and when it goes backwards it slows down because it is being pulled and powered by suction rather than electricity. Therefore, less downforce works best when riding back and forth. That's a lot better than paying hundreds for a brand name floor brush that will burn the motor or belt along with hair or debris. Just throw it away, get a new one and you're done.
