Unusable because it doesn't work

I bought a 9-Port USB 3.0 [2nd Gen] TP-Link Hub with 7 USB 3.0 Data Ports and 2 Smart Charging USB Ports to use with my new PC, so keep in mind that this is all a new generation of devices running Windows 10. I'm an IT professional, which means I only fix computer problems at work. This device connects to Windows 10 and requires no configuration. I bought this primarily to run 5 external hard drives and an external Blu-ray burner. All of them are powered from an external source and do not require power from the USB hub itself. They just need a connection through the USB part. I got it manually, plugged it in and all I've tried is it either doesn't connect or if it connects it starts up and then in the middle of what you're trying to do it disconnects. It has never worked successfully. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the USB drivers to no avail. I contacted TP-Link support and explained the problem and they wanted me to try a different USB cable connecting the hub to the PC. I did this with a known good cable and the results were the same. They went around in circles offering an RMA center and I paid for the center to be shipped to them. So I did, and they decided to send me a replacement "Open Box". So I paid for a new hub that doesn't work, then I paid for them to ship a new hub while I'm waiting for a new replacement, and I got a used hub that also doesn't work. I've spent far more time, effort, and money making this work than it's worth. I have worked with them and paid for a return I shouldn't have had and given them many chances to get it right. Their equipment is not working and their customer service was responsive but could not attend to the customer and fix the situation. Let's get to the best option.
