I have a very picky guinea pig. I've had guinea pigs since I was little and I've never had one as noisy as I do now. Unlike any other pig I've had, this one tells me she thinks of everything from her dinner to her bed. She loves light, fluffy stone pine bed linen and the bigger and coarser the shavings are, the less she likes them. She goes and parks in the corner of her car and doesn't even answer me if she doesn't like something. If she likes her bedding, she stretches and jumps more. This bedding isn't the best, but it's not the worst I've tried either. She doesn't sit in a corner and sulk like some brands that have big coarse chips do, but she doesn't run or run when it's in her plate either. The pine shavings in this bag are small but not as soft as the pine litter you get with some brands. Also, sometimes really large pieces of wood get into the mix. The last bag I ordered came with a large brown block of wood the size of my palm. I haven't worried about bedding and the like with any of my guinea pigs because none of them have had an obvious reaction to different brands. It wasn't until I had my current guinea pig that I realized how much they like or dislike something like bedding. Pistils with very light fine pine shavings seem to be most comfortable for small paws, and the larger and darker the pine pieces, the more uncomfortable they are.
