Review on ACDelco 12679524 Original Equipment Injection by Paul Andrews

Very easy job. The dealer charged us over $700 for this job on our '08 Suburban that had a catastrophic throttle body failure. Power decreased and eventually the throttle became completely unresponsive. It idled and never turned. Literally less than 10 minutes and we have it installed and all the plastics assembled. We also installed a new AC Delco gasket which was a total waste of money. The old seal was fine after 175,000 miles. Here's the hard part. I've done this job twice on the latest Chevy. The dormant retraining process is a real pain without a scanner. Never as easy as YouTube says. It took several days of driving and idling before the idling dropped again on both vehicles. Be sure to disconnect the battery negative cable and leave it connected to the positive terminal for a few minutes during the relearn process. It still doesn't fix it right away, but it helps a lot! Eventually the idle will drop again, but it's just agony. Also don't do what I did and don't wait for the first snow of the year to get the job done. Driving "at over 44 mph with multiple acceleration and deceleration cycles" as it should be, through a few inches of snow, at night, idling at 3000 rpm, ABS active and the gas tank empty wasn't the best solution. .Result. Actually repairs are stupidly easy, Revain is a lot cheaper than dealer parts (yes) and expect retraining is painful but doable for the average Joe. If you've clocked up a lot of miles, you can also expect your PCV hose to break at work. and order a replacement before trying. Or, as a last resort, use a 3/8" radiator hose like I did. (1/2 inch would be better.)
