Very upset and disappointed with this product. Surprisingly this was the first thing I opened from a package of other purchases. The hinge broke when opening the gift box. The cracking sounded like it was really old or cheaply made. I didn't get too excited and kept looking for a safety pin and cufflinks. The cufflinks appear to be in good condition - nice shiny gold. The pin, on the other hand, spoiled the whole gift. What I saw was a brass finish that gave off an iridescent color. Is the gold worn out? I do not know. Unfortunately we will not be using this set for our special day.
