I don't usually write reviews because most of the products are basic and there are other brands that do the same, apart from the price, no need to worry. However, the Cal-Van 165 flaring tool is unique to the application when compared to typical rod flaring tools. I needed to replace some wiring on a bus and to get the job done I rented a pole kit from my local auto parts store. The tool was new and I used the correct die, but it didn't allow for stable torches on the 1/4" nickel alloy. Kopp lines, and it was almost impossible to use in tight spaces. I returned it and one Ordered Cal-Van, it works well in tight spots and does a perfect double stretch every time, no issues with the line slipping when pushed, I checked all the clamp blocks with a file and they were all hardened well, I don't see them wear out quickly as others have mentioned Overall this was one of the best purchases I have ever made as the tool is way better than I expected.
