The suction cups are big and strong and the wire is metal so it's definitely strong, although I had to train the cat to stop chewing on the strings. Large enough for two adult cats, it can be removed from the bottom suction cups so it can lie flat and the curtains can be closed. Both of my cats were cozy in it within minutes of putting it together. The fabric of the hammock hugs the frame. I recommend Windexing Box first for a good solution. Really good product; I'll probably have to order a second one for our living room!
