My almost 9 year old granddaughter is in the next phase of growing up, she wanted a handbag that wasn't too cute. We both love green so I chose this color for her. It's durable, has room for everything you need, and the straps are perfect for carrying over the shoulder. She's too young to have her own phone, but was curious to see what the hole's function was. On a trip through California, she picks up her mother's phone and uses wired EarPods to listen to her favorite music. Great for quick shopping trips, farmers markets etc. If you are a woman at play (like my mum) this would be perfect to wear without the discomfort or fear of theft. The straps are adjustable to be worn crossbody, I prefer to have my hands free.
