I was looking for a panel lifter to make panels for a bed frame I was making. Unfortunately, my router table top is slightly larger than the more common 3 1/2" pads (not enough to feel secure), so I started looking for something smaller when I came across a couple of attachments made by Freud I bought this and a Freud mortising and mortising bit at the same time and I am very pleased.I was amazed at how easily the bits cut through red oak with no (and I mean absolutely zero) nicked or frayed edges that need sanding. It quickly cut through two large slabs and cut to the correct depth in just two passes My router is a Bosch 1617VSI, 2 1/4 HP and for this bit I reduced the speed to 2. For the top plugs of the head- and footboards I switched to Skil 1/2" cutters to get the correct profile and again it was very good Freud's bits impressed. Skil created a huge mess in the cuts and had to be reworked multiple times, adding just a fraction of an inch to each cut to prevent horrible tearing and burning, and still required a lot of sanding. Having used this drill I can say that I am a lifelong Freud Quadracut user and am more than happy to pay the few extra dollars these bits cost. You really are worth it.
