Review on Trangia Aluminum Cook Pot Lid by Richard Mangum

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Huge pot for a large group

As a local Scout leader I often have to cook (or watch others cook) for a large group. I have a Trangia 25 kitchen set that we use for patrol style cooking. But sometimes even that is not enough. This 4.5 liter pot is large enough to serve as a container for a full size 25 Trangia kitchen set. It's also big enough to make soup or stew for eight people. Admittedly, when heating something 4+ liters you should almost always use a gas burner instead of an alcohol burner. An alcohol burner works great when you are dry cooking or even steaming. This potty is too big for hiking, but we regularly use it on car trips or even canoe trips. These are the times when he shines. Like everything we've used from Trangia, this one is very well made and should last a lifetime.

Pros
  • 4.5 liter: 25 series cookers fit
Cons
  • ill thought out
