Not easy to turn. Hard

I really wanted to rate this product well because it seems to fit more than I actually use in my daily life. At the moment I am very disappointed that it does not turn easily, it looks a lot like Steve, it makes a squeaky noise, requires more attention to this product because it seems to fit more than I actually use on a daily basis. At the moment I'm very disappointed that it doesn't turn easily, it feels very stiff, it creaks. Every time I try to turn it, it moves across my countertop, the base seems stuck or something, and I don't even fill it completely with my stuff. Please help me understand how it works.
