First off, this is an attractive buckle that looks and feels very strong. The tilt feature (unlike the small lever on other ratchet straps) makes it much easier to use. And thanks to the simple but secure clamping mechanism, it can be easily attached to the belt. But I encountered a few problems. :one. This buckle design requires the belt to be about 2 inches longer because the ratchet is on the end that attaches to the belt. this is not a problem with a new belt that you shorten to length. I replaced a broken lever buckle, originally I shortened the belt a bit longer, but the buckle was too tight the first time. click. I had to buy a new belt. 2. Unlike my other ratchet straps, this buckle activates TSA airport metal detectors. I'm always pre and I appreciate not having to take off my shoes, belt, jacket, etc. First I went with this buckle, it hit the metal detector every time - two different airports. too sensitive detector. This is a deal breaker for me as I don't want "travel" and "non-travel" belts. A good buckle if these two issues don't affect your situation.
