The original still works but the mechanism is a bit loose. Happy to find a source for a new one. Not sure if it will be that long-lasting - we'll find out. The first combo I bought worked great for 15 years. Expandable at both ends is incredibly convenient. Unfortunately I have to change this rating from 5 to 3. After a short time, the mechanism suddenly became too difficult to slide in and out and finally jammed completely. Now I can't access either end and the lever just clicks but doesn't move. I'm not sure what happened as I've only used it 3 times in a short period of time. Obviously not the same quality as before. I hope I just got the failed one but not sure I want to risk paying for another one.
