While I may resent the seemingly inflated prices HP charges for their inks and toners, I have never owned an Original HP cartridge or toner cartridge that didn't deliver superior performance. Refilled products, remanufactured products or replacement products have all given poor results in the past. While I'm usually always looking for alternatives to the products and consumables I use, I'm happy to give startups, newbies, and second or third tier vendors a shot. When it comes to ink, I know there are far too many complex variables involved to reverse engineer an identical behavior. Disclaimer: I worked at HP until I was fired due to one of their layoffs. I may not like the way the company has treated me as an employee, but I really appreciate the engineers and engineering that goes into ink, paper and printing technologies. This is not something that copycat vendors can easily copy. And before I'm accused of favoritism, my production printer as a professional photographer is made by Canon and I only use genuine Canon ink and mainly Canon photo paper that I sell. . But I have HP printers for some jobs, and I also stick to genuine supplies for those printers.
