I love practical kitchen essentials that focus on performance and style that go with everything and fit the bill. They're a bit wider than I'm used to, so they might take a bit of getting used to, but hopefully that also expands the possibilities of using them as a comfy stand, for example. The black base color will likely hide some types of dirt but show others like flour. Haven't washed them yet but the stitching looks good and I think it should last a while. It has a flat functional look on one side and a silver side on the other which is quite heat resistant, probably silicone. I haven't experimented with it much, but I cook with cast iron almost exclusively and it works very well for handles on even the hottest pans. One-month update: they have been used a lot and washed several times. In general I would say that they are a bit stiffer than all cotton fabrics but that is not a problem. Baking supplies are definitely more visible, but also easy to shake off so you don't have to wash them every time. However, they wash well, do not wrinkle and do not fade after 4 washes.
