My family is planning to use an artificial Christmas tree for the first time. We switched from natural to artificial for a number of reasons: 1) There is less deforestation, so there will be less natural damage to the environment in the long run as we plan to keep it for years to come. 2) We also have this one artificial, that is not undecorated in advance so that we can have fun decorating it ourselves. It was so easy to put together, and it doesn't have the hard, spiky bristles or branches that come with natural trees. It opens and closes like an umbrella, so closing it for storage is a nice, thoughtful touch. The actual tree doesn't look like a real tree/evergreen, but once decorated it doesn't make much of a difference. It pretty well withstands all the trinkets and decorations we put on it without falling off.
