Before How to choose an Edge 830 , I tried several other brands of bike head units/GPS and finally settled on this one. Aside from all the expected features of the 830 that other branded head units have (which I won't go into here - if you look for technical details you can find plenty of 830 articles online) what struck me as the reality is the scenario World how responsive and useful the touchscreen feature was. Instead of having to remember which button does what, using the Edge 830 was as easy as using my iPhone. It's also notable that I didn't have to take off my gloves to use the Edge 830 (although I have to take off the same gloves to use my iPhone!). I've used the GPS feature to discover new routes in the mountains, and I've also used the GPS on familiar trails to find new byways that I wouldn't have discovered on my own. The 830 also connects flawlessly and consistently to my bike sensors. If you're arguing about the 530 and 830, I'd say the 830 is worth the extra cost, mostly because the touchscreen capability is faster, easier to use, and very responsive.
