For the money, I would have liked a little more to tuck the straps back into for riding. Be that as it may, the straps are attached with plastic parts like a carabiner. Our 4 year old has been begging for a wheeled backpack and is obsessed with it. Not only is it very heavy for a 4 year old, but it also feels very heavy even when I'm carrying it. There is no padding on the inside of the pack where the handle is pushed back in and therefore the paper gets crumpled up instead of lying flat on the back of the pack. I paid enough for it so I guess we'll just have to use it until it wears out. :( It has no place for a badge so we had to put her name and our phone number on the bottom. Wow. Making wheels light up when you roll them, that's cool.
