Review on 🎧 Red Audio-Technica AT-VM95ML/H Turntable Headshell/Cartridge Combo Kit by Dhoal Shankar

Impressive on the first spin of the old AT95e. Very clear and concise. This can be good or bad depending on your taste. I found I needed to remove the mids and highs from my JBL Decade L36 speakers. This pickup captures the subsonic frequencies of distorted records. A receiver or phono stage with a subsonic filter will help eliminate woofer pumping. What they say about the ML's ability to track internal grooves with minimal distortion applies to my situation. The white Beatles album now plays completely without the S-shaped distortion that would otherwise be annoying to hear. It also gets along well with the LIVE brass LP Throwing, which sounded very clipped and shrill on the previous 95e. I've found that well-made albums sound fun and energetic, but on the other hand, bad, tinny and compressed records can sound tiresome because they're not complemented by a folded frequency response. This cartridge will make you want better mastering and possibly give up records you previously enjoyed.
