I was initially impressed when I pulled it out of the box. Obviously it was well made and quite sturdy. Unfortunately it didn't do much to the garlic, it just crushed it through the holes into smaller pieces that needed more crushing. And he didn't get all the garlic. In my opinion the two best systems right now are the Chinese cleaver style end of the knife - much more efficient than this thing or the French knife, and for the quick and messy job the plate grater which also leaves behind any leftover garlic. If I'm not missing anything, there really isn't a great instrument for this particular task. Spring. I really wanted this to work well.
