Firstly, this knife passed the paper test with ease.without a thought to the matter. No pressure needed, and the cut was true and razer sharp. This is one seriously sharp knife.While this knife has an 8in blade, the tang is rather long. That puts its balance right where it should be, making this large and fairly heavy knife feel lighter than it actually is.But, it is a big knife, big as I'd like to go on a chef's knife. This is not a knife one should use as their "one and only" kitchen knife. While its size does open up possibilities smaller knifes don't have, or can't do, it also makes it too clumsy for detailed work.Because it is stainless steel, the Damascus wave pattern is not "in your face" apparent. So, if your looking for a fancy knife, this might not be your knife. Just, if your looking for a Damascus quality work knife, it very well could be.
