As my HDMI port failed on my gaming laptop which I connect to my 144hz ultrawide this really worked.1. There were serious problems with it when just showing it on a monitor or TV. It only looked like lag when gaming, but the trick was to set the custom resolution to the correct frequency, after which the lag in games went away. Selecting display settings in Windows showed a lag at 120Hz or 60Hz. Nvidia custom resolution settings solved this problem! 2. It's worth the cost and did a great job at 3840x1080@120, 3840x2160@60.
