Very happy with this unit. Quality Appearance. Heavy for its size - a sign of reliability ;-) Unlike other devices I've tried, this basically keeps track of how I've positioned my monitors (2 external, side-by-side, and my laptop on the bottom and inside open between). ) when waking up after closing my laptop or after it has fallen asleep. Other devices I've tried rarely bothered, having to disconnect and reconnect the dock (sometimes even multiple times). Worse still, some just don't recognize one of the external monitors. I would say that 1 in 20 or 30 times I have to rearrange my monitors in the system settings, but it hasn't "forgotten" or refused to reactivate both external monitors so no unplugging/replugging is required, just rearrange it. I am connecting two external 27" monitors via HDMI and wired Ethernet. I also connect a lightning cable which allows me to sync my iPhone instead of having to unplug/plug directly into the laptop every time I come and go from my desk. Now I have one plug (connected to 2 ports) to deal with, not 3-4 every time. And I have many USB ports available that I can use per port. That's exactly what I wanted!
